Description:
Evolution expert Richard Leakey packed them in at the Godwin auditorium, February 23 for his President's Lecture Series address on "Origins Reconsidered: In Search of What Makes Us Human." An engaging speaker, Leakey covered a variety of topics, from child rearing to modern technology. On the issue of religion versus evolution, he said he believes that the two are not mutually exclusive. And on the human species, he observed, "We are not the apex of life. A lot of people find that very difficult to accept. There is no inevitability to our survival. We are a strand of the bush of life."
