The digital collections of the Old Dominion University (ODU) Libraries include rare and unique images, documents, oral histories, and video from our Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA). The collections listed under Community Collections and University Archives are from our collection guides/finding aids. The university’s yearbooks have been digitized and are available in ODU Digital Commons, along with the scholarly and creative works of the faculty and students.

Contains oral histories as part of the Desegregation of Virginia Education (DOVE) project, which aims to document personal stories related to desegregation of public schools in Virginia

2006-2021

The Mace & Crown has been the student newspaper at Old Dominion University since 1961. Originally a monthly magazine, the publications changed to a newspaper format in the fall of 1963, and began to run weekly issues in the fall of 1964. In 2017, the Editorial Board decided to switch to a magazine format to be published quarterly. Unfortunately, the first six issues for the 1994-1995 academic year are missing.

This collection contains oral histories conducted by Old Dominion University on various topics including ODU history, desegregation, and women's history among others.

Newsletters, event fliers, memos, photographs, and other material related to the Women's Center at Old Dominion University.

Over 2,000 historic news clips from local television news station WTAR, now known as WTKR virtual channel 3, the CBS-affiliated television station from the 1940s-1970s.
