Dr. Stanley Pliska, head of the Social Studies Division of the College of W&M in Norfolk, conducted a television class in World Geography over Channel 15 during the second semester of the school year, 1957-58. The courses, World Geography and Music Appreciation, were presented for college credit, and the Norfolk Division was the first college to institute such courses in the State of Virginia."
