Photograph of Cecil Dickerson, Chair of the Radio and Electronics Department of the Technical Institute and Raymond Bunch, Technical Institute student, with the Speech Center's nasal vibrometer. The idea for the nasal vibrometer originated with Reuben Cooper, Director of the Speech Center. Dickerson designed the machine and it was built by Bunch and fellow Technical Institute student, Carleton Moseley.

The Speech Center of the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary received a check for $800 from the Ward's Corner Lions Club. Shown left to right are: Dr. Aubrey L. Shelton, Chairman of the Health and Welfare Committee, Mr. Herbert L. Johnson, President of the Lions Club, and Professor Reuben Cooper of the Speech Department. The Lions Club has helped with the work of the Speech Center since its inception in 1955.
