Lisa Pecil (foreground), a junior English major from Norfolk, looks for some good buys among the thousands of used books that were available during the University Library's annual book sale, October 16 and 17. The sale raised approximately $1,800, which will be used to fund achievement awards for student workers at the library.

Harold Lee "H. L." Wilson from the Bibliopath Bookshop and Bindery on Bute Street in Norfolk proved to be one of the best customers at the University Library's used-book sale held November 3 and 4. Sponsored by the Library Staff Association, the sale benefits student workers at the library. This year's proceeds will go toward the purchase of University Bookstore gift certificates for 30 to 35 students.

Sophomore English major Leigh Ramsey of Chesapeake, has her hands full as she peruses yet another book at the University Library's annual used book sale, held last week. Proceeds from the sale will be used to present student achievement awards, which include gift certificates to the University Bookstore, to deserving library student assistants. According to Carole Ray an office services specialist at the library who helped organize the sale, close to 1,000 volumes were sold. She added that the proceeds should be able to fund up to 30 gift certificates.

Nahil A. Sobh, assistant professor of mechanical engineering examines the offerings at the University Library's recent two-day book sale. Sponsored by the library's staff organization, the sale raised more than $1,500 this year. Proceeds will be exchanged for gift certificates to the University Bookstore and awarded to deserving student workers at the library. This was the 16th year for the sale which features books, records, and magazines.
