Franklin Summers (singing on steps), a student in the Music Department of the College of William and Mary, Norfolk, received the honor of becoming a member of the All America Chorus which will visit ten European countries this summer on a combination concert and friendship tour. He also received a $300.00 scholarship given by The Choral Organization to persons with "extraordinarily fine solo voices." Since this was not enough to finance his entire tour abroad, the college band sponsored a "Frank Summers Day" and gave a concert on the steps of the Administration Building. Later the "hat was passed" to aid Frank so that he could take advantage of this opportunity.
