Reading clockwise starting at the left front are: Barbara Jones, Myrna Teck, Diane Payne, Ethel Nesson, Ramona Pangle, Suzanne Stirling, Judy Upshur, Diane Barclay, Maryline Matacia, Carol Hill, Dana Pope, Gray Shaeffer and Bonnie Bowser. All are students of the modern dance class under the physical education department.

The Opera Workshop of the College of William and Mary in Norfolk presented Hansel and Gretel under the direction of Mr. Robert Young in the college gymnasium on Monday night, December 3, 1956, at 8:15 PM. Hansel was played by Jane Paxhia and Gretel played by Margaret Graham. The scene is from Act II when the children are lost in the forest.
