Admiral Harold W. Gehman, Jr. with his wife Janet, prior to December Commencement exercises for Old Dominion University. Gehman is a United States Navy four star admiral who served as NATO's Supreme Allied Commander, Atlantic (SACLAND), Commander-in-Chief of the United States Joint Forces Command, one of the United States' Unified Combatant Commands, and Vice Chief of Naval Operations. Gehman is set to receive an honorary doctorate of science degree from the university.
