The Merchandising Department of the College of W&M, Norfolk, under the direction of Miss Dorothy Jones conducted a class for buyers of the Center Shops of Norfolk in the Trophy Room of the College during the months of Sept., Oct., November, 1958. John Gilbert Walker, Marjorie M. Moore, the Professor Dorothy M. Jones, head of the department of merchandising. Miss Moore of Norview High School has been awarded the 1956-57 scholarship given by the Department of merchandising. Mr. Walker held it during the past years.

Merchandising students holding scholarships for 1958-59 are from left to right first row (seated): Daynelle Winstead from Hampton holds the unfunded scholarship; Margie Favorman holds the Norfolk City School Board scholarship; (standing) Roger McLaughlin holds an unfunded scholarship, Bob Padgett holds an unfunded scholarship, and Robert Whitehurst holds the Distributive Education Scholarship of Virginia and the Elizabeth River Woman's Club scholarship.
