Christmas Program, 1954. The Messiah was presented during the Christmas season. The performance was under the direction of Dr. Charles Vogan of the College of William and Mary, Norfolk Division's Music Department and the participating chorus' were the College of William & Mary Chorus, the Epworth Methodist Chorus and the Royster Memorial Presbyterian Chorus.

Passing the Hat for Frank Summers is Buck Jordan. Seated, left to right, are Hobson D. Turner, Jr., Douglas Cannon and Quennon Hundley. Students of the college band gave a concert on the steps of the Administration Building for Frank Summers Day. Frank Summers is a member of the All American Chorus which will visit ten European countries this summer on a combination concert and friendship tour. He received a $300 scholarship given by the choral organization to persons with "extraordinarily fine solo voices." Since this was not enough to finance his entire tour abroad the college band sponsored a free concert and later "passed the hat" to help Frank on his way.

The Chorus of the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary presents its spring recital in the Recital Hall located in the Fine Arts Building. Willard Robb is the Chorus conductor.

They will give a concert at Center Theater, assisted by string section from the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra, and a brass quartet from the William and Mary band. They combined with the band to present the music for the Camellia Show last Sunday. The chorus will also make up the cast of the "Pirates of Penzance" which will be performed on May 16 at the Center Theater."

The following picture was salvaged from the fire which destroyed the shack that housed the yearbook staff in May 1955. The picture is of the presentation of the Messiah by the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary Chorus and Norview High School Chorus at the Colonial Methodist Church on December 2, 1951.
