Dr. Jack C. Kanter '35 of Norfolk, president of the Norfolk Division Alumni Chapter, accepts the chapter charter from Skip Williams '83, the Alumni Association's vice president for chapters. The ceremony was held July 15. Looking on is chapter member Samuel P. Saunders '34. The chapter is open to former students who atteneded Old Dominion from 1930 to 1955.

Actress Deborah Shelton and Henry Clay Hofheimer II strike up a conversation following the Annual Fund kickoff breakfast on April 11. Shelton, an Old Dominion alumna, was presented a certificate of recognition at the breakfast. She will be in Norfolk through Memorial Day shooting a movie, titled "Twilight Blue." Hofheimer, a well-known civic leadere and longtime supporter of Old Dominion, was the keynote speaker. He encouraged the university to set its sights high in building its endowment and offered fund-raising tips to Annual Fund volunteers.
