Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wheeler received a $6,600 National Defense Graduate Fellowship for three years at the University of North Carolina, to study history. Larry Lawless received a fellowship covering tuition and fees at the University of Virginia in Law. He majored in history at the College of William and Mary in Norfolk.
