Albert Ira Godden, Professor Emeritus, served ODU from 1949-1984, in the Technical Institute and as Director of Off-Campus Credit programs. He served as Chairman of the Department of Social Studies (1955), first Chairman of the Department of History (1957), Dean of the Evening College (1962), and Dean of the School of General Studies (1970). He was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania on January 8, 1919. Among his interview topics are the University of Virginia extension program, the Social Studies and History departments, the Student Senate, Academic Advising staff, and Honor Council.
