The historical marker for the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues, which is near the Technology Building. According to the sign the third armory of the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues Armory was located at Hampton Boulevard and 47th Street from 1914 to 1961. Members of the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues served in the Mexican Punitive Expedition against Pancho Villa, World War I, and World War II where they landed in the fifth wave on Omaha Beach in Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944. The Artillery moved to their current location near Broad Creek in 1961.
