The "vestibulator" is tried out on a disabled child at St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children, with the help of a therapist and a Old Dominion University, engineering faculty member. The "vestibulator" was created by a group of Old Dominion University mechanical engineering students, in order to stimulate the sense of movement for children who are not able to move much on their own. The device moves children from side to side and back and forth, in a rocking motion.
